This is bullshit, I'm sure Blagojevich offered but even at the height of the Cabrini Green violence Daley didn't bring in the national guard. Blagojevich is over-reacting to the Taste of Chicago violence. Daley will make the cops do overtime.

Some parts of Chicago are fucking warzones, South Shore and Engelwood to be specific. I met a guy who lived in Engelwood for a year because of the cheap rent but his walk from home to the train consisted of walking though two rival gangs territory, needless to say he wasn't to thrilled and moved away.

That article is a reaction to some gang violence that took place at one of Chicago's main tourist attractions which resulted in injury and death in "safe" neighborhood. However, Daley is pretty badass motherfucker when it comes to getting shit done.

I think Blagojevich was being sarcastic.

Holy shit did anybody notice how many ironic things there were about that story. First, the guy that got shot was 19 and he was in a bar. Second, the bartender (R.I.P.) was named Margarita. Third, it was a block away from Chris' place, actually that's not that ironic considering he lives in the GHETTO.
